I painted this before realizing I needed a smooth surface. My focus was on the intriguing shapes and negative space created as Doug and Mookie negotiated next steps in their dance-like relationship.

Dino is (was) the lone survivor of our original pack of canine misfits. But his shadow often looks like it belongs to another animal, having lost his tail in an unfortunate accident. This one I thought looked like an Alpaca. I find the distorted shapes of shadows endlessly fascinating.
