Before we washed the house, Barn Swallows regularly nested on the front porch. They inspired me to make bird at nest quick draws. At some point new squatter birds (not sure the type) built grassy nests upon the old bird’s mud foundations.
Here are 6 bird at nest quick draws – and I mean quick, you could call them sketches- of birds in flight at nests and on nests from January 19, 2022. I used acrylic paint pens and micro pens in a 14” x 11” sketchbook. I think the reference photos came from May 2020 – yes, I sketched from photographs not from life.
